A Birthday Party!

A 13 Year old with Aspergers sent out invitations to his birthday party and didn't receive a single RSVP.

So a whole bunch of people from Elijah Wood to the Prime Minister's wife sent him birthday messages!

And they had a big party!

Hugginz by Angel, Canada's Warmest Hug

Little boy Waving

The unit by us at work houses an older couple who run a custom embroidery business. They have a grandson who is probably 2 now. The couple watch him sometimes and the little boy likes to stand at the glass door and look at the big trucks and cars out on the street.

A while ago - when he was much younger I started waving at him. Initially he wasn't very interested in me, then he seemed curious, and later began to wave back.

Over the past year he has learned to say "Hi".

Now we get a really excited wave and a big loud "Hi" which really comes out quite muffled through the glass doors.

I don't know this boy's name. I probably should find out.

But every time I see his lovely, smiling face I smile and for a moment I think, we know each other and we make each other happy.

Sarah Kay: If I Should Have a Daughter

Old Married Couples

An old couple got onto the subway train this morning.
They must have been married for many years.
May have even married young.
They were so sweet together.
He helped her on and off the train.
She laughed and fixed his hat.
They smiled, and talked and laughed some more.

And I smiled.
I thought how lovely it is to know someone for so many years, love someone for so many years, be married to someone for so many years...
and laugh together.

The World Needs More Love Letters

This was so beautiful.
I used to write a lot of letters at one point in my life.
And a lot of notes.

Strangely enough I was thinking I should start writing to people again and then I found this!
Maybe it's true that the universe sends you what you need and what you are ready for.

I'm hoping to join them but for now, maybe I should write to a friend.
